The Hotel de France is a stunning hotel redolent of Viennese history and culture. Since 1872, when it was first built, the hotel has been home to some famous names including composer Bruckner and the Allied high command following the Second World War. It is situated on the north western edgoe of the central Ringstrasse. The hotel is close to the vast majority of Vienna's major sights such as the Spanish Riding School, the Hofburg and the Burgtheater, as well as a plethora of outstanding palaces and museums. The above are mostly easily reachable by foot, but those wishing to save some shoe leather can use the metro. There's a stop near the hotel.
